End of the Year Update

So I know I said I'd be better this summer about updating the blog, but I started having so much fun with Madeline, I just lost track of time. Since my last posting, summer has come and gone. I'm back in school teaching 3rd grade again to a wonderful group of students. Madeline go to experience her first 4th of July, Labor Day, Halloween, and Thanksgiving! She just turned a year old on the 3rd of December. It's crazy how fast a year goes by. Hope all is going well with everyone!

First Trip to the Lake

Madeline went to the lake for the first time over Memorial Day weekend. We spent the whole week before trying to get ready for it, driving around town trying to find a life jacket. We finally found one, and she HATED it...at least in the boat. She was okay with wearing it in the water, but I ended up having to put her in the front carrier because she was so miserable in the boat.

Mother's Day

This was my first Mother's Day so it was extra special for me. I'm so happy I finally get to celebrate this day!

Duke's graduation celebrations

In May, Duke graduated from high school so of course, there were some family celebrations.

May- 5 months

Madeline turned 5 months old in May! We can't believe how fast she's growing. She's now

about 14 and a half pounds!

April 2008

So, I got busy with school and enjoying Madeline which is why I've been so terrible about updating the blog. In April, we got to spend time with friends and family, I had my first birthday as a mom, and Madeline started eating rice cereal.

Happy Easter!

What a great day Madeline's first Easter was. We went to church and then went and celebrated with family.

3 months old!

We didn't go to the doctor this month and our scale at home was broken so we're not sure how much Madeline weighed on her 3 month birthday. But it's obvious that she's growing!

Madeline's first St. Patrick's Day was a great one! Hope all of yours was great as well.

Snow Day

This month Madeline got to see snow for the first time. We bundled her up and brought her outside for her first snow pictures.

Meeting my friend Connor!

Madeline finally got to meet her new friend Connor! He was born on March 9th. It's going to be fun to watch them grow up together.

My new Spring hat!

Madeline didn't like the sun in her eyes so we got her this cute little spring hat. Now at least she has some shade for her eyes while we are on our afternoon walks. It's still a little big, but that just means she'll be able to wear it all summer!

When Daddy Goes Out of Town

I had fun dressing Madeline up for a baby shower. I've been waiting since she was born for that headband bow to fit her and now it finally does. The first outfit didn't work since Madeline has grown so much so she changed into a second outfit. I'm so glad I have a girl to play dress up with!

My Crib

Madeline slept in her crib for the first time on Friday night (February 29th). She didn't do so well that first night waking up every 2-3 hours. But last night (March 1) she sure did! She had her first 12 hour sleep night without waking up. Boy does that make for a happy mommy (daddy was out of town so he couldn't enjoy it)!

Moving on up!

Since today was the last day of the month and since Madeline will be 3 months old on Monday and since she's getting so big, we decided last night was her last in her bassinet. Hopefully she sleeps as well in her crib! We decided to introduce her to the crib while she was still awake. She loved looking at her mobile. Maybe it'll be easier to get her to sleep now!
